Those Christian B**ch's...

Ephesians 6:10-11
[The Whole Armor of God] A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.

A couple of weeks ago ABC released a new show called GCB based on the book Good Christian B*tches By Kim Gatlin. The show is basically about a reformed High school mean girl and her children returning home, prodigal style, to the high class, church centered city of dallas after her cheating, embezzling husband dies in a tragic accident. I love the show because it's like a "it's funny because it's true" type of humor. These high Class women are basically making up their own rules, using the bible, that fits their own selfishness.

Every week i watch the show and it gets me thinking, not only about my own personal life and the things that i have said and done that is identical to the characters, but it makes me think about the state of the church. The body of Christ as a whole has eased up on Sound Biblical Truth and is falling victim to the devil's propaganda.

For example, In the first episode Kristen Chenoweth's Character said something like: "omg! is that a sin? i'm not sure, i'll google it" this tickled me because i am guilty of just googling something to find a verse instead of spending prayerful time in my word discerning Gods truths. I'm not saying that Google is bad but that's not what the christian walk is about. We are not meant to walk on egg shells of right and wrong. The Christian walk is one of freedom and gratitude. Am i making sense? You see the problem there?

The bible says if we are strong IN the lord putting on the whole armor of God we will be able to stand firm against the strategies of the devil. We won't displease God by making up our own rules using his words. We can't live our life however we choose to live it and still proclaim the name of Jesus. No matter how innocent our intentions may be the ONLY way to please God is to allow christ to live In and through us.
